Lies Robbertsen

Lies Robbertsen was born in the Netherlands in
1968 and is the owner of Studio Radianza. After graduating in 1992 in Painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, The Hague, she worked in Holland as a freelance artist exhibiting her work in solo
exhibitions as well as together with fellow artists. In addition, her artistic experience was broadened
when she worked in theatre and television productions, designing scenery.

In 1995 she came to live and work in Tuscany. Here she continued her free work on canvas and paper at her studio in an old tower next to the Castle of
Brolio whilst she undertook an apprenticeship for several years at Rampini Ceramics. This difficult and most adventurous painting technique with the firing of the colours stole her heart, leading to her
specialization in majolica ceramics painting. Art,
Applied Arts and Crafts started to flow naturally into
each other.

Lies Robbertsen had her first studio "Arti Minori" in
the little village Lecchi in Chianti, and after 4 years there, in 2007, Lies opened her new studio called Radianza in the old village centre (centro storico) of Radda in Chianti, in the province of Siena.
